GTA 6 on PC: requirements and release date

A question a lot of players are asking: when is GTA 6 coming to PC, and what kind of computer will you need? Here's where things actually stand, without inventing numbers Rockstar hasn't confirmed.

A PC version hasn't been announced yet

GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is currently no official date, and no confirmed system requirements, for a PC version. This isn't an oversight: several sources close to development suggest Rockstar is prioritizing console hardware first, with the PC port following later.

When it's likely to arrive: based on Rockstar's track record (Red Dead Redemption 2 reached PC roughly a year after consoles), a plausible window for GTA 6 on PC is somewhere between late 2027 and early 2028. This is an estimate based on past launches, not official information.

Why it's still worth preparing

Even without official specs, some technical reasoning holds up: GTA 6 runs on an updated version of the RAGE engine, the same one used for Red Dead Redemption 2, and the console versions target 4K with ray tracing in quality mode and 60fps in performance mode. A PC built today to comfortably handle those targets — DDR5 platform, fast NVMe storage, a GPU with generous VRAM — will be ready regardless of when the PC version actually gets announced.

ComponentRough guidance
RAM32 GB recommended for a system that stays capable on next-gen open worlds
StorageNVMe SSD, to reduce the streaming stutter typical of Rockstar's open worlds
GPU (mid-range)At least 12 GB of VRAM for high open-world textures
GPU (4K / ray tracing)High-end card with DLSS/FSR support for solid framerates at native or upscaled resolution

Indicative figures based on industry technical analysis and the stated console targets, not on official Rockstar requirements.

We'll update this page with minimum, recommended and ultra specs as soon as Rockstar makes them official.
