Rockstar announces "An Extended Look", premiering on Netflix August 27
The first major official showcase since the previous two trailers, premiering on Netflix before hitting YouTube.
Rockstar Games has confirmed that "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET, arriving on Rockstar's official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website about six hours later, around 9 p.m. ET the same day.
It's the first major official showcase since the previous two trailers, and the choice of "Extended Look" over "trailer" suggests more substantial content. Many fans expect to see real gameplay for the first time — so far Rockstar has only shown cinematic material.
The Netflix partnership is itself new territory for the franchise: streaming subscribers will get to see the footage several hours before the general public on YouTube, a deal that signals how much media weight Rockstar expects from this moment.
The timing isn't a coincidence: it comes less than three months before the planned November 19, 2026 launch, right when the game's marketing needs to stop being cryptic and start showing players what they'll actually get their hands on.
